Reporting to the Manager, Information Resources, this role is responsible for the provision of a range of services associated with the acquisition, cataloging, and processing of print and digital resources for the library collection. The incumbent also performs a range of frontline library and customer support services as a member of the Customer Service team, with a focus on lending services. Quality customer service is the primary focus of this position.

About the person

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual who possesses the following skills and experience:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Library and Information Studies, or relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, experience, and training.
  • Advanced skills in using current technologies for library services, including a wide range of software applications and library management systems, with strong data entry skills and the ability to exercise judgment within policy and procedure constraints.
  • Proven ability to proactively meet customer needs while maintaining a high level of professionalism, and excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a wide variety of people, demonstrating respect, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, support others, resolve conflicts, and commit to productive work relations.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage workloads, establish priorities, and meet competing deadlines, along with experience with bibliographic records.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in information resources and lending services in a tertiary institution.
  • Knowledge of the Library of Congress classification scheme.

Salary details

The salary for the position commences at $69,843.17 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
